EnCana threat-letters likely written by the same person

Handwriting expert David Babb said the inverted saucer shape of the letter T crossings in the letters suggests the writer is keeping their anger in check. An independent forensic document examiner and handwriting expert says the two EnCana threat-letters have the same author. – Advertisement -According to Vancouver-based newspaper The Province, Forensic Examiner David Babb says it’s highly probable both letters were written by the same person. He says the construction of the letters had tremors in them, which suggests neurological damage of some kind. He also notes the author appears to be focused and possess average intelligence. On Wednesday the 15th, the Dawson Creek Daily News received a letter, which RCMP members believe to be from the same author as the previous note sent last year. The threat-letter came shortly after the sixth bombing to the area south of Dawson Creek. The two page note stated EnCana Corp., has three months to beginning shutting down operations in the Tomslake area, ending the letter with a cryptic warning, “Don’t Delay.”The Province reports that University of Alberta sociologist Paul Joosse believes the latest letter was not written with the author’s dominant hand.Advertisement RCMP Sgt. Tim Shields said police have yet to conduct an official handwriting analysis. Meanwhile, there have been ongoing reports that police are using excessive tactics with their investigations. The Dawson Creek Daily News reports that Sgt. Shields says the role of the police is to do whatever is legal, moral and ethical to investigate, stop and prevent crime. But, the newspaper says it and other media outlets has received complaints that the RCMP or INSET members are harassing and accusing members of the community. Advertisement Shields did not deny these incidents occurred, but he said that these tactics help eliminate people of interest. To see The Province’s article, Click HereFor The Dawson Creek Daily News article, Click Herelast_img read more

Lack of contracts for Davie shipyard an injustice says Quebec premier

first_imgQUEBEC – The lack of federal contracts for the Davie shipyard near Quebec City is an “injustice,” Quebec Premier Philippe Couillard said Tuesday as he urged Ottawa to send a strong signal to workers at the facility. There are not two but three shipyards in Canada and Davie needs to stay active, the premier told The Canadian Press in an interview.Davie recently completed the Asterix supply ship and its workers were expecting an order from Ottawa for a second one.But the Canadian Forces decided another ship wasn’t necessary and, as a result, 113 workers were recently told they would be let go, while up to 800 could lose their jobs by Christmas.“The near totality of the contracts has been concentrated in British Columbia and the Maritimes,” Couillard said. “We have to reverse this and come back to something that is more symmetrical, more just and equal in the awarding of contracts.”He said there are plenty of opportunities to send more work Davie’s way such as the upcoming contracts for coast guard ships and the ferry between Prince Edward Island and the Iles-de-la-Madeleine.Couillard said Ottawa needs to “send a strong signal” to Quebec’s workers.Parti Quebecois Leader Jean-Francois Lisee said Quebecers deserve federal contracts because their tax dollars help fund the military.“If we look back at Quebec’s history with the rest of Canada, never before have we witnessed a greater diversion of Quebec taxpayer dollars to the two coasts of the country,” he said. “It’s a historic diversion of money.”Lisee said there exists a “political will to close Davie.”last_img read more

KVIC created over 20L new jobs in last 5 years Chairman

first_imgNew Delhi: The Khadi and Village Industries Commission has created over 20 lakh new jobs in the last five fiscals under the ambitious Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), the commission’s top official has said. KVIC chairman Vinai Kumar Saxena said the Commission has always achieved more than 100 per cent success rate in execution of the PMEGP. He said that prior to 2014-15, the achievement rate was never over the stipulated target. But in the last five fiscals, due to the push given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to digital India, the KVIC succeeded in surpassing the targets. Also Read – Uddhav bats for ‘Sena CM'”Incredible it may sound, amid much debate about job crisis in the nation, the Khadi and Village Industries Commission, leading from the front, has created 20,63,152 new jobs and set up 2,67,226 new projects under its ambitious Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) in the last five fiscals, i.e. between 2014-15 to 2018-19,” Saxena told PTI. In 2018-19, the KVIC, the nodal agency of PMEGP, had been given a target of setting up 70,386 new PMEGP projects disbursing margin money of Rs 1,968.80 crore for creating 5,62,351 employments, he said. “Surprisingly, the KVIC achieved 105.05 percent success in this process as it had set up 73,408 new projects, disbursing margin money of Rs 2068.31 crore and creating 5,87,264 new employments,” He said. “Surpassing the target, however, is not a new phenomenon for KVIC in the last five financial year. Barring 2015-16, it has always achieved more than 100 percent success in execution of PMEGP,” He said. Also Read – Farooq demands unconditional release of all detainees in J&KWhile in the 2014-15 the achievement percent was 102.70 per cent, it was 118.29 and 112.17 per cent in 2016-17 and 2017-18 respectively. “Success in PMEGP is manifestation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Digital India. The KVIC as the nodal agency of the PMEGP scheme, had taken various steps of digitalisation to increase organisational capacity to meet the various requirements towards implementation of this scheme. “Earlier PMEGP was implemented off-line. But from July 1 2016, KVIC launched online portal. The software used for digitalisation of PMEGP was developed in-house by the IT team of the KVIC, saving approximately Rs 20 crore of the government exchequers as some external agency could have charged this for it,” Saxena said. He said The online portal has brought transparency and expedited disbursement of margin money subsidy under the PMEGP. “The KVIC has introduced online submission of application by the prospective beneficiaries and the payment of Margin Money subsidy is directly made into the beneficiary account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). With the digitalization of the whole process, not only the applicants can now track the status of their applications at any point of time, it had also taken out even the minor chance for middlemen to bluff the applicants,” he said.last_img read more

The cause of Al-Quds is a sacred trust for all of us. As far as I am concerned, it is just as important as Morocco’s first national cause, it has always been one of the fundamental determinants of my country’s foreign policy”, said the King, chairman of Al Quds committee, in a speech delivered at the opening of Al Quds committee’s 20th session, held in Marrakech this January 17-18. “Since the last Committee meeting, we have not been sitting idly by”, went on the King who called for “strong mobilization of our means and resources to defend the holy city, since this is the cause of the entire Muslim Ummah”.
