GHALCA G6 Preview: Ashantigold vs Berekum Chelsea

first_imgLeague champions Ashantigold face 2010 winners Berekum Chelsea in the opening game of the maiden GHALCA First Trust G6 tournament in Sekondi. Both teams enter this competition full of confidence after making significant improvements to their squads during the off season. This game will have a spicy edge to it after the protracted transfer of Chelsea striker Kofi Owusu who had openly declared his interest to play for the Miners. It was rumored he had sealed the deal only for Chelsea to refute the claims a few days later.Despite their ability to land Owusu, Ashantigold have bolstered their ranks with the services of left back Hudu Yakubu, attacker Dauda Mohammed, the Nuhu brothers; Alhassan Nuhu and Fuseini Nuhu both from New Edubiase and Isaac Amoah.Head coach Bashir Hayford will use the tournament to sharpen the rough edges of his side ahead of what looks a difficult continental journey. With the league yet to be started, the tournament will offer this new look Ashantigold without Fatau Dauda, Lawrence Lartey, Didier Kore and Yakubu Mohammed  the much needed match practice to keep them in prime condition for the tie against Algeria’s MO Bejaia.Their opponents Berekum Chelsea have also been active on the transfer front acquiring two prominent signings in former captain Abdul Basit and former U-17 star Saddick Adams.Solomon Odwo’s men despite signing these players have lost influential defender Richard Osei Agyemang and pacey winger Bennett Ofori to Asante Kotoko. Both teams will strive to win this game as they both have to face Asante Kotoko in their next fixture to stand any chance of topping the group to see either of them progressing to Sunday’s final. Ashantigold and Chelsea served a goal feast in their last league fixture drawing 2-2 in Berekum and should they follow this script, fans could be in for an entertaining start to the G6 tournament.–Follow Joy Sports on Twitter: @Joy997FM. Today’s MLB DFS Picks: Advice, strategy for Tuesday’s DraftKings, FanDuel daily fantasy baseball contests

first_img1BH. Kendrick (R)WSH@CWSTue 8:10M. Bañuelos (L)$5300$3000$17UPGRADE Today’s MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings, FanDuel advice for Tuesday, June 11SP: Dakota Hudson, Cardinals @ Marlins. Have the Marlins been better lately? Sure, but so has Hudson. He has four straight quality starts in which he’s allowed two earned runs or fewer, five straight overall, and nine consecutive outings of three earned or fewer. The Marlins are dead last in the league against RHP in almost every offensive category that matters. Hudson will likely be the chalkiest pitcher on the slate, which is fine for cash, but in GPPs it might be worth it to fade him. Pivot to someone such as Trent Thornton.C: Danny Jansen, Blue Jays @ Orioles. Jansen is so cheap at $2.3K on DK it’s at least worth a look. He does have a .351 OPS against southpaws this year and is coming off a multi-hit contest, hopefully building some momentum.MORE TUESDAY MLB: SP rankings | Betting picks1B: Eric Hosmer, Padres @ Giants. I know offense goes to die in San Francisco, but we shouldn’t just fade it completely when we have a great matchup. Tyler Beede just doesn’t retire LHHs at all. They’re batting .379 with an OPS of 1.230 and a .502 wOBA against him. Hosmer is struggling but still batting .292 against RHP on the year. He’s a really nice value.2B: Brian Dozier, Nationals @ White Sox. Dozier is hitting everyone right now. He;s slashing .393/.469/.857 over his past 10 contests with seven extra-base hits. He’s absolutely crushing southpaws this season, hitting .367 with a robust .489 wOBA, making him an elite play on this slate.SS: Trevor Story, Rockies vs. Cubs. Holding down Story back in back-to-back games at home doesn’t happen often, especially when you factor in that he’s facing a southpaw in this contest. He has a 1.068 OPS at home this year and a .324 average and .366 wOBA against southpaws. Javier Baez is also an elite play on the flipside of this game.3B: Marwin Gonzalez, Twins vs. Mariners. If you’re looking to spend down at 3B, Gonzalez is the play. He’s 8-for-14 off of Mike Leake throughout his career and comes into this one hot, batting .308 over his past 10 games. 2BM. Moustakas (L)MIL@HOUTue 8:10B. Peacock (R)$5200$4000$22UPGRADE SPD. He continues to hit extremely well, batting .317 over his past 10 games and .312 for the entire year. Reddick has a nice matchup against Freddy Peralta, who’s allowed LHH a .279 AVG and .350 wOBA. Michael Brantley from the same OF is a very nice play, as well. For more player recommendations and analysis, become a Fantasy Alarm subscriber today!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Pos PlayerMatchupOpp. SPDKFDY! Tyler Boyd: Bengals ’embarrassed’ by Steelers in prime time

first_imgBoyd, a Clairton, Pa., native who attended the University of Pittsburgh, had higher hopes for his homecoming than a lowly 33-yard outing in a blowout loss.”At the end of the day, I can take the losing, but when you go out there and get embarrassed, Monday night, prime time. I have too much pride to go out there and showcase what we showcased,” Boyd said, via the Associated Press. He finished 21 of 37 for 171 yards and an interception with a 7.2 QBR, his lowest since the 2017 season.”We have to make plays, we have to execute better,” Dalton said. “It’s everywhere and it starts with me. We have to improve what we’ve done to this point because it’s nowhere near the level that we want to play.” Melvin Ingram injury update: Chargers defensive end (hamstring) could miss multiple weeks, report says Tyler Boyd didn’t sugarcoat Cincinnati’s 27-3 blowout loss at Pittsburgh in prime time.”We got embarrassed,” the Bengals receiver told reporters after the game, per ESPN. “Straight like that. It sucks.” Adding insult to injury, first-year coach Zac Taylor became the second first-year coach to drop his first four games with the Bengals.”We didn’t expect to be an 0-4 team, but that’s where we’re at right now,” Taylor said. “There’s no excuses we can make.”The Bengals have a fighting chance to get their first win of the season when they host the 0-3-1 Cardinals in Week 5 action.last_img read more
