Minister Ch Sriranganadharaju inspects crop canals

first_imgPenumantra: Minister for Housing Ch Sriranganadharaju inspected Marteru and Chinchinada canals and directed officials to take steps to rise water level in the canals so that more lands can be irrigated. The minister said that farmers have been complaining that they were not getting water from the canals. He informed that 10,000 acres have been supplied with water through Chinchinada canal. In Achanta constituency, 30,000 acres of land was getting water from Rapaka, Chinchinada, Achanta, Jakkiraju and Deva canals. The state government has been taking up several farmer welfare measures. A calamity fund with Rs 2,000 crore has been created to help farmers affected by cyclones and other natural calamities. He elaborated various welfare measures being implemented for the farmer in the state.last_img
