Minor girl sexually assaulted by class 6 student in Gurugram

first_imgGurugram: A six-year-old girl was on allegedly raped by his juvenile neighbour in Bhodsi area of Gurugram. The accused is a student of class 6. A case has been registered under the POCSO Act and investigation is underway.The incident happened when the mother of the victim went out, leaving the girl alone at their house in Bhondsi area. It was then the accused got into the house and raped the six-year-old. The suspect and the rape survivor living in the same neighbourhood. The boy was aware of this and took advantage of the situation and attempted to rape the girl, her parents told the police. The girl, according to the family, told them that the 11-year-old boy tried to force himself on her when she was alone at home. The girl also said she was told by the suspect not to tell her parents about the crime. A case was registered at Bhondsi police station under POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act on Friday. The boy is also being interrogated by cops. In a more disturbing trend that came forward, it was revealed that Gurugram also leads in a number of sexual assault cases against the minors. There were 354 cases registered under the protection of children from sexual offences Act (POCSO). Co-incidentally the figures were way lower that Faridabad that has total cases of 412 cases of sexual crimes against minors. The official data from the Gurugram police reveals that on an average of 15 children go missing from the city every month.last_img
