Watch Dean Ween Perform ‘The Mollusk’ With Claypool Lennon Delirium

first_imgLast night, the Claypool Lennon Delirium tore the roof off The Fillmore in Philadelphia, just one night after Yoko Ono made her appearance with the psychedelic rock band. The night’s setlist featured plenty of tracks from their debut release Monolith of Phobos, including both “Cricket & The Genie” movements, “Breath of a Salesman”, “Mr. Wright”, “Captain Lariat”, “Boomerang Baby”, and the title track itself. After a full tour with the new band, Les and Sean have slowly introduced more and more covers to their setlists, like The Beatles‘ “Tomorrow Never Knows”, King Krimson‘s “Thela Hun Ginjeet” and “In The Court of the King Crimson”, Yes‘s “Heart of the Sunrise”, Pink Floyd’s “Astronomy Domine”, and Claypool Frog Brigade‘s “Cosmic Highway”, all of which were played at last night’s live-streamed show. The evening also saw a double-Primus encore, with “Too Many Puppies” and “Southbound Pachyderm”, which included a “Pure Imagination” nod to Gene Wilder, to close a fantastic set. Additionally, with Dean Ween (or “Steve Ween”) in attendance, the Claypool Lennon Delirium introduced another cover, “The Mollusk”, the title track from Ween‘s 1997 release, about half-way through the night. While Les Claypool and Dean Ween have certainly played together before, most recently with Les joining The Dean Ween Group for “The Mollusk” during their opening set at The Capitol Theatre earlier this summer, this was the live debut for the reverse collaboration.
