Ibrahimovic on the largest Swedish Banknote!

first_imgZlatan Ibrahimovic almost has legendary status in his homeland. Besides having a statute of him built in front of a stadium in Stockholm, the best offensive soccer player in Swedish history got another artistic installation dedicated to him.Namely, his portrait is on the 1,000 Swedish krone banknote, the largest Swedish banknote, according to Goal.comIbra revealed that information by posting a photograph on Instagram with the caption “You have Benjamin Franklin and you have me,” alluding to the most popular banknote in the world, the 100 US dollar one.Unfortunately, Ibrahimovic won’t be able to spend it in a store in Sweden since the banknote with his portrait isn’t a legal tender but rather the work of Swedish artist Binge Rimer; however, perhaps they’ll print a “real” Ibrahimovic in Sweden soon.(Source: Radiosarajevo.ba)last_img read more

Pochettino motivated by beating Man Utd, not joining them

first_imgLondon, United Kingdom | AFP | Mauricio Pochettino says his focus is solely on defeating Manchester United on Sunday to further Tottenham’s Premier League title chances rather than his own prospects of taking over at Old Trafford next season. The Argentine is the bookies’ favourite to take over as United’s next permanent manager despite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s perfect record in five games as caretaker boss following Jose Mourinho’s sacking.Spurs, in third place, are 10 points ahead of their sixth-placed visitors and are just six points off leaders Liverpool.Pochettino’s men are still involved in four competitions despite working with a fraction of the budget on offer to Mourinho over the past two-and-a-half seasons.“Of course when you’re a manager or coach you cannot be focused on all the rumours,” Pochettino said on Friday, referring to his meeting with Solskjaer being billed as a head-to-head for the United job.“The most important thing is the motivation that we have to do our job in our best way. Of course Manchester is going to come on Sunday trying to win.“Of course for him (Solskjaer) it’s a massive motivation or challenge to manage Manchester United, like for me it’s a massive challenge to be in front for this football club, Tottenham.“Always the motivation is to win because we’re so competitive. We’re people that love to win and hate to lose, and always when you play a friendly game or a competitive game like Sunday always it’s about winning.”Pochettino’s achievements are all the more remarkable given Spurs have played in a makeshift home at Wembley for the past 18 months and did not sign a single player during the summer transfer window. Tottenham are again unlikely to do business in January, with the immediate concern more focused on ensuring some of their best players do not leave.Christian Eriksen has been in fantastic form of late but the Danish midfielder has yet to agree an extension on his contract that expires in 2020, sparking interest from a host of top European clubs.“Christian is a very clever person and of course there’s going to be a decision from him, from the club, from different parts and I hope he can be committed to the club long-term,” said Pochettino.“In football it’s about timings, negotiations, different parties and how they feel.“Of course, it’s his right to wait, to sign this week or in six months, to have different dreams and challenges. For me, it’s not a point to discuss. He’s committed to us, he’s playing so well. I’m so happy with him.”And Pochettino joked that he treats Eriksen in a similar way to his dog.“Christian is a very special person and you need to give him freedom, like on the pitch,” added Pochettino.“You cannot put him in a box. You need to give freedom and trust him. Like my dog, in the park. I trust my dog. I say, ‘Go, I trust you’”.Share on: WhatsApplast_img read more

At The Finish Line…Where Only the Truth Matters

first_imgBILL NEAL•    There’s one truth I can assure you of.  Just like all the “I never use the “N-word” people came out of the woodwork, we now have all the do-gooders stepping up to say how disgusting Ray Rice’s attack on his soon to be wife was.  Now all of a sudden, the only people to hit women are NFL players.  What about the steroid and drug users that put on a suit and go to work every day . . . what about the police . . . how about military and war vets?  Now don’t get me wrong.  I am not pointing a guilty finger at anyone.  I’m just telling the truth here.  Statistics will tell you those other groups have a higher rate of domestic violence and lord knows I’m not giving NFL players a pass.  If you’re guilty,  you’re guilty, but let’s be honest here, and for the record, you know the #1 group doing all the damage . . . ?  It’s your next door neighbor.  It’s your family member.  It’s the one everyone knows about and does nothing about!!!•    Just so you know, I’m on record to tell you there’s no lower member of the food chain than a “so called” man who hits women, abuses children or mistreats seniors.  If I were sheriff, I would lock them all up in the same pit bull laced pit and throw away the key.Serena Williams, of the United States, hugs the championship trophy after defeating Caroline Wozniacki, of Denmark, during the championship match of the 2014 U.S. Open tennis tournament, Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, in New York. (AP Photo/Mike Groll)•    Don’t look now, but with her 6th U.S. Open win, to go with all her other worldly titles, Serena Williams is set to become the greatest female tennis player of all time.•    While they’re trying to get to the bottom of the bottom of this mysterious video tape of Ray Rice assaulting his wife, don’t get too comfortable because they put a former FBI guy in charge.  You can go back and start with J. Edgar Hoover’s cross-dressing behavior and make a top 100 list of the things the FBI screwed up.•    Another medical explanation for Pedro Alvarez being out of the line-up because of an alleged bad ankle is . . . “Hey Pedro, you just can’t cut the mustard anymore.”  “J-Hay” is getting it done big time, but thanks for memories (Look, don’t blame me.  I’m just giving you the truth.)•    Man you just gotta love this time of the sports year.  Baseball coming down the stretch, football just cranking up, hockey set to start next week . . .huh?  And NBA, college and high school basketball tips off in 30 days.  You just gotta love it.< You Have Just Crossed the Finish Line >last_img read more

How We Learn

first_imgThere are many ways to learn. We make a guess based on a hunch or intuition. We take some action to test our hypothesis. The results tell us whether or not we guessed correctly. We learn whether or not what we believed was true or whether it was false. Either way, we learn.Sometimes instead of taking an educated guess, we just go ahead and take some action with absolutely no idea whether or not what we are doing is right or if it will work. We throw something at the wall and see if anything sticks. Something happens, and sometimes that something is nothing. If we’re smart enough to pay attention, we make some observations about what happened (or didn’t), and we learn from this experience.Often something happens and we just happen to be there when it does. We recognize that something happened and we learn from that observation without having to experience it for ourselves. This is where insights come from. Sometimes we have enough experience and situational knowledge to come up with a theory and test it. Sometimes we just need to throw something against the wall. And sometimes we pay close enough attention to what is going on around us to notice some novelty. This is how we learn.QuestionsWhat hypothesis should you be testing right now? What kind of result should you try to get by taking different actions even when you have no idea what to expect? What have you observed in the last 14 days that gave you some new idea or insight you can use? Report: Wolfsburg 1 Bayern 2

first_imgWolfsburg 1 Bayern Munich 2: Lewandowski spot-on after Robben’s penalty miss Tom Webber Last updated 1 year ago 00:36 2/18/18 RobertLewandowski - cropped Bongarts Robert Lewandowski succeeded where Arjen Robben failed and scored from the spot to help Bayern Munich sink Wolfsburg. Robert Lewandowski came off the bench to extend Bayern Munich’s winning run to 13 matches by scoring a last-gasp penalty to earn a 2-1 come-from-behind victory against Wolfsburg.Bayern looked set to be heading for a draw at the Volkswagen Arena after Arjen Robben had seen an earlier penalty saved, but Gian-Luca Itter showed his inexperience with a tug on the Dutchman, handing the visitors another spot-kick, which Lewandowski tucked past Koen Casteels. It was the Poland international’s 16th goal in 15 Bundesliga matches against Wolfsburg, a record which includes 12 in his last six against the Wolves, and opened up a 21-point advantage over Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig – who take on Eintracht Frankfurt on Monday – at the summit. Article continues below Editors’ Picks Lyon treble & England heartbreak: The full story behind Lucy Bronze’s dramatic 2019 Liverpool v Man City is now the league’s biggest rivalry and the bitterness is growing Megan Rapinoe: Born & brilliant in the U.S.A. A Liverpool legend in the making: Behind Virgil van Dijk’s remarkable rise to world’s best player Bayern have not suffered defeat since going down 2-1 to Borussia Monchengladbach on November 25 but they looked in danger of losing when Wolfsburg defended stoically after Daniel Didavi’s opener. That goal was missed by a section of the home supporters who did not take their seats until after 19 minutes and 45 seconds – a reference to the year of the club’s founding – over poor results, and they were unable to cling on for an impressive draw despite Casteels saving a spot-kick from Robben in the 55th minute. The former Netherlands international made up for his failure to convert by setting up Sandro Wagner for Bayern’s equaliser, and then prompting a foul from Itter which allowed Lewandowski to send Jupp Heynckes’ men into Tuesday’s Champions League tie with Besiktas in fine form.Lewandowski has won it!90th minute penalty. Only six players in Bayern’s Bundesliga history have scored more.- Jupp Heynckes’ side have won 13 straight games, the longest winning run in his coaching career.- Since 2015-16, no player has scored more headers in the Bundesliga than Sandro Wagner (11).- Arjen Robben has missed a penalty for the first time with Bayern since the Champions League final against Chelsea FC in 2012. read morelast_img read more

Targeted Growth Program Case Study – Rosalie Touch Association

first_imgRelated LinksTGP Case Study – Rosalie If your affiliate is looking to grow its junior numbers, why not take inspiration from Rosalie Touch Association (RTA), who were a successful applicant in the 2012/13 Targeted Growth Program. For RTA, establishing a junior development program, a first for the club in its 25-year history, was reason enough to apply for funding for the Targeted Growth Program. And the result of involving juniors for RTA has been a massive success, as Dr Kit Frazer explains. “We wanted to run coaching clinics for the juniors to introduce them to the basic skills of the games through a number of fun games and drills progressing to modified games and then full games,” Frazer said. “We advertised the program through the local schools, public and private, local press and also local rugby clubs. Members of the committee also helped as community coaches in the local schools development program.”“We ran a Level 1 coaching course for our junior coaches and ensured all had working with children checks.”Frazer says that it was clear that the affiliate was suffering from an ageing demographic and that the infusion of youth every year from now on will rejuvenate the club. “We enrolled 145 children and commenced our program on Thursday, 18 October. The development phase ran for eight weeks until mid-December 2012 and we subsequently identified approximately 30 keen and talented kids to play in Mixed Under 12’s and Boys 15’s at the WA Junior State Championships (earlier this year).”“We also now have several of the older kids enrolled and playing in some of the senior teams at Rosalie,” Frazer said. Applications for the 2013/14 Targeted Growth Program (TGP) are now open and all affiliates are encouraged to apply.
