Galaxy S10’s iPhone-beating features leak: 1TB storage, 12GB RAM, headphone jack and more

first_imgAfter an almost forgettable year last year in terms of its flagship models, Samsung is pushing all boundaries to regain the lead in the smartphone space. The next generation Galaxy S10 models, scheduled to be unveiled on February 20, is already shaping up to be an exciting range of flagship Samsung smartphones. As of now, it’s known that Samsung will have three models under the Galaxy S10 moniker. A triple camera setup will be standard for the top-end models while the “entry-level” S10 will feature a dual camera setup for the rear. However, a new leak from GSMArena now gives us more exciting information about the next generation Galaxy S10 models. The headlining feature that the new leak brings is the presence of 12GB RAM and 1TB storage for the top-end model of the Galaxy S10. The 6.4-inch S10 Plus will have a limited edition model that will feature 12GB RAM and 1TB internal storage. Previously, the Galaxy Note 9 could only hold 1TB of data with an additional 512GB micro SD card. The S10 Plus limited edition will feature 1TB storage out-of-the-box, which indicates users could pack in more data with expandable storage. Maybe the S10 Plus could hold up to 1.5TB of data in total. The S10 Plus will also sport a dual selfie camera setup. The dual selfie camera will be present in the form of a punch hole design towards the corner of the display. The rear camera will sport a three-camera setup. The standard S10 with a 6.1-inch display will only have a single selfie punch-hole camera and a triple camera setup at the back. The 5.8-inch S10 will also have a single selfie camera but will be limited to a dual camera setup for the rear.advertisementAs for the 5.8-inch S10 Lite, the insiders have said Samsung won’t be giving the “Lite” moniker to the entry-level S10. The 5.8-inch S10 will be “just be the smallest S10” and feature the same specifications, including the same Exynos chipset and RAM options as the more expensive S10 models. However, what will remain uniform to all the S10 variants will be Samsung’s OneUI. All the Galaxy S10 models will come preloaded with Samsung’s OneUI with Android 9 Pie. The OneUI is Samsung’s latest custom skin for its premium smartphones and focuses on improving the single-handed usage on its bigger Galaxy smartphones.Another important feature that will make it to the S10 series is the 3.5mm headphone jack. The 3.5mm headphone jack is now extremely rare in premium smartphones these days and Samsung seems to be the only manufacturer to retain the headphone jack on its flagship models. This will make the S10 a favourite with those who prefer the old-school headphone jack.Galaxy S10 launch dateThe Galaxy S10 will be unveiled on February 20, just before the MWC Barcelona begins. The device will go on sale from March 8, 2019 in international markets.Do note that these are still leaks and rumours. Therefore you should take this with a pinch of salt. Samsung will unveil the S10 at the Galaxy Unpacked event on February 20 and is also expected to unveil the much-awaited Galaxy Fold foldable smartphone alongside the S10 series.ALSO READ | Galaxy S10 launch set for February 20 as Samsung sends invite for Unpacked eventALSO READ | Samsung Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10 Lite, Galaxy S10+: Punch hole display, smaller chin and all the rumours so far While Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite and SamALSO READ | Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite case render shows Infinity-O display, wireless charging supportlast_img read more
